The architectural, design and town planner practice Dominique Perrault Architecture was founded in 1981 in Paris, today it has 70 professionals working under the direction of Dominique Perrault and Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost.

 

After having won the competition for the French National Library in 1989, DPA realized several major architectural projects around the world, such as the Velodrome and Olympic Pool in Berlin (1992), the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg (1996) and the Fukoku Tower in Osaka (2007).

DPA is conceived as a laboratory of research and innovation to push the natural boundaries of architecture, urban planning and design. DPA LAB has a major research role on materials, including the early use of the metal mesh.
